What is it?

GAME BOY Tools for Flipper Zero. The perfect companion for your Flipper Zero. Equipped with ESP32 for WiFi, it allows you to connect all GAME BOY peripherals and additional accessories such as NRF24, CC1101, and GPS.

Why did you make it?

As a hacking challenge enthusiast and a Gameboy console fanatic, as well as a Flipper Zero enthusiast, I decided to combine two of my favorite things and create this product. Currently, it's a functional prototype where I'm developing various apps for the board, and you can also create and contribute to them, as pull requests and new ideas are welcome.

What makes it special?

I've been working on a PCB project for GAME BOY peripherals for some time. After conducting research and creating a few prototypes, I've developed this development board (functional). It boasts the following features:

• Can read/write GB/GBC cartridges (Work in Progress: currently reads Cartridge GB/GBC Info and Dump & Restore RAM).
• WIP: GBA Cartridges (currently reads Cartridge Info)
• Equipped with 2 GAME BOY Cable Link ports in PCB.
• Allows you to connect a Game Boy with a Game Boy Camera via Cable Link to emulate a Game Boy Printer and view images.
• Can integrate Flipper Zero apps such as "Pokemon Trading" into the ecosystem.
• Utilizes Game Boy Camera as a camera stream.
• Additional Slots:
• Slot for NRF24 / CC1101.
• Slot for GPS NEO-XM Module (wardrive)
• Equipped with an ESP32-S2. Includes Marauder ESP32 (v0.13.0).
• Equipped with Level Shifter 5v to 3.3v Bi-Directional

Available Applications:

Currently available applications include:

• [MALVEKE] GAME BOY Cartridge (GB/GBC): This application can read cartridge information and perform backup/restore of RAM (Work in progress for restore of ROM).

• [MALVEKE] GAME BOY Live Camera: By inserting a GAME BOY Camera cartridge, you can use it as a camera and take snapshots from the Flipper Zero.

• [MALVEKE] GAME BOY Link Camera: This application allows you to extract your GAME BOY Camera pictures via WIFI for easy sharing with your phone, tablet, or PC. It's user-friendly; simply connect it to your GAME BOY and print as usual. The device will store the images and share them on a web server via WIFI. You will need a printer cable or Gameboy Color link cable for this.

• [MALVEKE] Pokemon Trading: This is a Pokemon exchange application from Flipper Zero to Game Boy (Generaction I). Flipper Zero emulates a "Slave" Game Boy connected to a Game Link Cable to be able to exchange any Pokemon from the First Generation (Red, Blue, Yellow) to a real Game Boy.

Editions

You can make your own or support the project buying a kit or assembled unit. This helps to make more apps and extend the functionality of the board.

If you ordered an assembled one (like Essentials or Deluxe Ultimate), you just need to prepare your Flipper Zero, simply follow https://flipperzero.json.cl/ ignoring the firmware upload part (you can do this too, to update the firmware in the future).

If you've ordered The Cheapo (KIT), you should assemble it first. It includes SMD components that require precision and patience.

⚠️ Before purchasing:

• This is a prototype board specially designed for Flipper Zero and may contain bugs that will be addressed in future firmware updates.
• New apps will be released with board firmware updates.
• Improper use may lead to damage to Gameboy peripherals.
• Order preparation, including soldering, testing, and packing, may take some time (up to two weeks).
• The current version is v2.5, which features a shared slot for NRF24 and CC1101 (NO DUAL), in addition to the GPS slot.
• DHL may charge import taxes depending on your country's regulations.
