Read More…These Solum electronic shelf labels were used in a store, and may show some cosmetic damage. They contain a 1.54 inch three color epaper display, white/black/red, with resolution 152x152 pixels. The tags are untested, and although most of them are fine, I cannot guarantee anything. If you order quantity 1, you get 5 pieces, 2 = 10 pieces (which already gives you a volume discount), etc.
As is, they contain no useful firmware. You can program them for use with the OpenEpaperLink system. You will need a jig for that, to connect to the debug pads on the pcb. I also sell preprogrammed tags with the right firmware.
The processor inside the tag is a ZBS243 (8051 based) and is capable of 802.15.4 communication. It is reverse engineered by dmitry.gr
Another option is to repurpose the epaper display itself. It is compatible with the SSD1619A driver chip. It takes some careful work to split the display from the pcb without braking the glass (it is glued with double sided tape). I also sell a driver board separately. The tags come without batteries (CR2450)
