Cryptocurrency mining hardware no longer needs an introduction, with miners working in pools and consuming a lot of energy. Solo mining, on the other hand, is less well known. It involves mining bitcoin without a pool, alone, with slim chances of catching a block, but when a block is caught, the reward brings in 6.25 BTC. The low hashing capabilities mean that energy consumption is very low. This practice of mini solo mining should primarily be seen as an experimentation for enthusiasts.

@sulfuroid has struck again and is offering a new electronic product: DOUBLE RACK 2U – Nerdminer. It is a 19'' server facade to simultaneously exploit 15 mini NerdMiners T-DISPLAY-S3 and neatly arrange them in a 19'' server cabinet.

DOUBLE RACK 2U – Nerdminer, as its name suggests, takes a standardized height of 2U. The product comes with 2 5V terminal block connector which allows powering the 15 ESP32s simultaneously. Optionally (sockets not supplied), the PCB board accepts other 5V power modes such as an easy-to-solder DC connector.

The T-DISPLAY S3s can be soldered directly onto the board. It is also possible to insert 2.54mm pin headers to make the T-DISPLAY S3 removable. The product has drilling holes for easily fixing the board in a rack cabinet using standard screws.
