The WS2811 expander lets you bring other devices into the WS2812 world... It acts like a single pixel and provides high-current outputs for each of the colors. I built it to be able to control some old-school LED ornaments using my WS2812 controllers.

Voltages:

The expander supports either 5V or 12V operation; select the voltage you want by soldering across the appropriate pads on the board and supplying the proper voltage to the power inputs.

Supported current:

4 amps per channel, all channels driven 8 amps per channel, one channel driven

Chaining: The WS2811 expander can be chained together like WS2812 LEDs. Merely attach the next expander to the DOUT,Vcc, and Gnd terminals.

Size: 34 mm x 28 mm

Headers: The expander can be used by soldering directly to the board, or you can use headers. The signal connections use standard 0.1" (2.54mm) headers, and the main power and LED connections use 0.16" (3.96 mm) headers.
