Read More…The GIO Instruments AFR v3.4.1 w/ BL-EXT-DBG is a sophisticated Air Fuel Ratio (AFR) controller for use with the Bosch LSU4.9 oxygen sensor. This device features an HC-06 Bluetooth module, allowing for wireless data transmission. It reads AFR values [Lambda (λ)] and transmits this data through GPIO pins or Bluetooth to any compatible device, such as PCs or smartphones. The controller is reprogrammable using Arduino codes and can be directly powered from a vehicle's battery, with built-in current protection and a fuse for safety.
I developed this device to accurately measure air-fuel mixtures, which is crucial for optimizing engine performance and efficiency. Primarily designed for automotive applications, it ensures that the AFR is at the optimal value of 14.7, promoting better fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. Beyond automotive uses, this controller is also suitable for applications in furnaces, industrial heating systems, and combustion machines, providing essential oxygen ratio data.
The motivation behind creating this product was to empower makers and DIY enthusiasts with a versatile module that they can customize for their specific projects. By making the controller mostly open-source and compatible with Arduino, I aim to foster innovation and facilitate the development of unique and specialized applications.
