The I2C Multiplexer Hub allows numerous sensors and devices to be interconnect via the I2C/QWICC/Stemma QT interfaces performing addressing, power and signaling segregation. This is especially important where you want to interconnect multiple devices to your system that are addressed alike.

Besides allowing numerous sensors to be interfaced to controllers, it allows communication between any of our controller boards such as the Coolboxx II, the ECB, and the GrowMore HUB providing expansion in a Master/Slave relationship for signal point control of multiple controllers.

The Hub has eight bidirectional translating switches that can be controlled through the I2C bus. The SCL/SDA upstream pair fans out to eight downstream pairs, or channels. Any individual SCn/SDn channel or combination of channels can be selected, determined by the contents of the programmable control register. These downstream channels can be used to resolve I2C target address conflicts. For example, if eight identical digital temperature sensors are needed in the application, one sensor can be connected at each channel: 0-7
