This device will combine a USB Type-C power source with a micro USB data source. This will then provide both power and data to a single USB Type-C connection.

Application #1 Accelerate Android Auto to Fast Charging Lots of cars today come with Android Auto. You can connect your phone to your car through the USB port. Many also come with a fast charging USB type-C port. However, often the vehicle will only allow you to connect to AA through the older slower charging port. This forces you to choose between fast charging or AA. With this device you can do both at the same time. For this three ports are provided. One for your phone, one for your car's AA connection and one for your fast charging USB type-C port. Once the connections are made you will have both fast charging and a data connection to your car. A status LED is provided to help indicate which connections are present. When Android Auto is connected and your USB-C PD fast charger is off AA will function with standard 5V charging. When Android Auto is connected and your USB-C PD fast charger is on AA will function with fast charging provided by the PD fast charger. The changeover happens automatically.

Application #2 Offloading Power If you have an older laptop with USB ports that are not capable of supporting the power requirements of a newer USBC device you can use this adapter. For example, an older computer may only be able to provide 100mA on its port but your newer USB powered scanner or printer, etc. may require up to 3A to be fully functional.

• A maximum of 20V/3A is supported for USBC charging.
• A maximum of 5V/1A is supported for micro USB charging.
• This will work with a "Quick Charge" type charger connected to the fast charging port but quick charging won't be enabled.
• This may not work with a "Quick Charge" capable source connected to the data port if the phone also supports QC.
• This may not work with a USB BC1.2 capable source connected to the data port if the phone also supports USB BC1.2.
• USB 2.0 only. (USB 3.x or greater is not supported)
• Cables are not provided.
• The micro USB port is protected against reverse power flow.

This is against the way USB wants to work. Therefore, some overly intelligent phones and/or data ports may find ways to reject the connection.
