What is it?

MAVBridge allows to control your quadcopter (or any other MAVLink-speaking robot) with MAVLink protocol over standard WiFi connection (from PC, laptop, phone or tablet).

Compatibility has been tested with:

• MAVProxy

Device has built-in web interface for configuration and status.

Why did you make it?

I designed and made this product because I was so fed up with commonly used radio-links and Bluetooth modules for quadcopter control & configuration. WiFi may not be the longest range option, but it is very fast in near distances and does not require any additional hardware on ground control side.

What makes it special?

It's data transfer rate. At 921600 baud rate, data rates of 70KiB/s are reached easily without any packet loss. MAVBridge is compatible with MAVLink v1.0 specification and does not depend on exact message specifications- it can also be used with custom MAVLink messages just fine.

Cautionary notes

This product is not meant to replace long-range, slow but reliable radio links for mission control. On the contrary- this product is developed for close range, line of sight applications (configuration / calibration / downloading logs). The wireless range has not been tested but is unlikely to be larger than few tens of meters outdoors.
