This adapter will allow you to take a TRS-80 Color Computer compatible joystick (5-pin or 6-pin DIN connector) and adapt it for connection to a USB port on a PC, Mac, or Raspberry Pi. This gives you the ability to use a physical Color Computer joystick in an emulator environment, or as a joystick input device on your PC or Mac.

While using emulators, I missed the authentic and nostalgic experience of using an actual Color Computer joystick, while playing some of my favorite 8-bit games. This adapter allows you to relive that experience with your favorite emulator as well as play analog compatible games on a modern system.

This adapter is an all-in-one, compact device. It is for use with a single Color Computer joystick, but with the press of a switch, you can swap between Left and Right joystick ports in your emulator environment. Additionally, there is a separate switch and adjustment knob that allows you to turn on rapid-fire for the primary joystick button. The rate of rapid-fire is also adjustable by rotating the knob.

The firmware for the adapter is open-source and may be customized by the user for fine tuning.
