Note: Depending on which Assembly Level you choose, this product may not include a gate opener. None of the Assembly Levels include a Raspberry Pi. Make sure to review the Options section below and choose the Assembly Level you want.

Open Your Gate From Anywhere!

This little gadget allows you to connect a 300 MHz, 10 dip-switch remote gate opener to a Raspberry Pi so that you can open a gate with just a few lines of code.

It connects directly to an off-the-shelf gate opener remote (sold separately, unless you choose the "Controller + Gate Opener" option) and uses a 5V relay for triggering the gate opener remote and a voltage conversion circuit for powering the gate opener remote (replacing the remote's battery). It requires only 5V power, ground, and a single GPIO pin from your Raspberry Pi.

How Do I Use It?

It's simple! Just follow the instructions in my tutorial to finish assembly of your controller circuit (depending on which Assembly Level you purchase).

If you purchase the "PCB Only", "PCB + Parts", or "Assembled Controller Circuit" version, make sure to also buy a separate gate opener remote (or use one you already have).

Finally, you can use my code to control the gate opener from Home Assistant via MQTT, or use your own code to trigger the gate opener however you like!

Options

Here's what you get with each Assembly Level. None of these options include a Raspberry Pi—you must always supply that yourself.

PCB Only

Just the PCB. No additional parts, no assembly. Does not include the gate opener remote itself.

PCB + Parts

The PCB and the components needed to assemble the controller circuit, but you have to do the assembly via some basic soldering. Does not include the gate opener remote itself, so you'll have to buy one and attach it yourself with some simple soldering.

Assembled Controller Circuit

The complete controller circuit, fully assembled. Does not include the gate opener remote itself, so you'll have to buy one and attach it yourself with some simple soldering.

Assembled Controller + Gate Opener

The complete controller circuit as well as the gate opener remote already attached. All you have to do is plug into your Raspberry Pi. Note that this option has an additional one week lead time so I can order and receive the gate opener remote, since I don't keep them in stock.
