This E30 interior dome light delay/dimmer is a direct plug-and-play replacement for the factory timer delay relay which only allows a 7-second delay, or to add interior light delay and fade/dim functions to cars unequipped with a factory timer delay relay. This module offers dome light functions that you have likely seen in modern BMW models.

These functions include:

• Slow dome light fade-in upon door(s) opening
• A delay time of full light after closing the door(s)
• Slow fade-out when delay ends
• Delay cancel and consequent fade-out if ignition is turned to the Run position during delay

Three trimmers allow you to set the fade-in, delay, and fade-out time. Installation does not require any wire splicing or modification of the factory harness and takes approximately 30 minutes for removal of a couple trim panels.

The module is compatible with all BMW 3-Series E30, including early and late models, M3, convertibles, both LHD and RHD versions, although minor differences in installation may be observed. Other BMW models like the E28 5-Series are likely to be supported as well.
