This interface card is designed to allow the use of various GPIO based Arduino™ interfaces with the Z80 based RC2014™ system. A Z80 PIO is used as the interface because whilst it has less ports that the Intel 82C55 it can set the direction on them far more finely.

The board supplies power to the shield and connects the 16 digital pins. The digital pins are ordered for optimal bitbanging speed on the usual SPI port.

For serial use the RX/TX pins can be jumpered onto the RC2014 bus to drive a serial interface.

There is no provision for analogue functionality.

I²C is attached to a PCF8584 in theory. This has not been tested as I've not been able to find any PCF8584 parts at sensible prices.
