In this latest version of ESP32-Cam Programmer the working voltage can be selected, either 5V or 3.3V. The recommendation voltage for programming the ESP32-Cam is at 3.3V.

HOW TO PROGRAM THE ESP32-CAM ?

Keep the slide switch at 3.3V. Attach ESP32-Cam properly. Then connect it with a good USB type C cable because when the camera is active it will require a quite large current. The board should be detected as a common serial adapter CH340. If you have never installed the CH340 driver before, then please install the USB driver first (http://www.wch-ic.com/downloads/CH341SER_ZIP.html). Now you're ready to upload your code to the ESP32-Cam.

ESP32-Cam programmer also have a breakout pins that makes it easier for you to connect the I/O pins of the ESP32-Cam to other circuits (no need breadboard).
