What is it?

The Apple II SCSI card from 1986 was one of the first interface cards to attach a Hard Disk Drive to the Apple II line of computers. A2SCSI is a clone of the last revision (rev.C) of the card with a few enhancements to improve compatibility with modern SCSI drives.

Why did you make it?

Apple II SCSI cards have compatibility issues with many drives larger than 100MB and are relatively hard to find. The A2SCSI is a modern implementation of the card with excellent software compatibility and 2 small but very important hardware improvements.

What makes it special?

The card is compatible with the original Apple II SCSI card. It also provide termination power to the SCSI bus and it has on board active termination. Both these features are absent from the Apple SCSI card and are the root cause of incompatibilities with many drives.

New A03 PCB with enhanced SCSI chip. Requires a patched GSOS driver that can be downloaded from the documentation page.

A2SCSI - great addition to an Apple ii

It’s great! I’m using mine to boot my enhanced Apple iie from a Zip drive, and you can also use Sony SCSI CD drives with an Apple ii.

Works great, no complaints with the card.

Only complaint is that Asendia is a terrible shipping company - but that isn’t the sellers fault!
