What is it?

New generation IoT device to monitor ambient presence (either still or moving); it's powered by ESP32 module and it can be ordered with LD2410C or the new LD2420 sensor. It has an onboard LDR to read ambient light and use it to have better automation and 2 I2C connectors to expand the device with additional sensors (CO2, Gas, VOC, LUX, Temp, Hum, etc) as far as they can fit inside the case. It has an USB-C port both for power and programming, even thou it can be upgraded via OTA.

Why did you make it?

I wanted to make a compact and reliable sensor to automate lights, climate (and all you want!) monitoring the presence in each room; PIR can only detect motion and when you stop moving they turn their output to off while Presence sensor (like this one) can detect both still or moving humans in the room.

What makes it special?

Below all the characteristics:

• available with LD2410C (0 to 6 meters range, resolution 0.75m or 0.2m)
• available soon with LD2420 (0 to 9 meters range, resolution 0.7m)
• onboard LDR to read ambient luminosity
• USB-C port to power up the device or program it
• 2 pads available if the user wants to solder 2 cables (5V and GND) to bypass the USB-C port
• ESP32 on board with custom ESPHome firmware that user can upgrade via OTA or USB-C
• Green ESP32 status LED (can be disabled via firmware)
• Red Presence Detected LED (can be disabled via firmware)
• 2 I2C connectors available to add any compatible sensor that can fit into the case, already tested with BH1750, BME280, BMP180, HDC1080 and HTU21D
• Case shell 3D printer in White PLA included
• Ball Joint and bracket 3D printer available (or STL can be downloaded)
