For sale is a copy of our RAMless diagnostic ROM for the Rockwell AIM-65. This ROM contains a copy of our open-source memory test suite, which can be found here:

We developed this test ROM to help troubleshoot malfunctioning Rockwell AIM-65 single-board computers. It operates standalone with minimal hardware -- the only requirements for basic "sign-of-life" functionality are a working Z22 ROM socket and working LED display board. The ROM performs the following tests:

• ROM checksum
• Stack page quick write presence
• Zero page quick write presence
• RIOT single-pass memory test
• Full system memory test

The ROM checksum and stack page tests are completely RAMless and will execute on a system with no installed RAM. The zero page test is only run once the stack test is complete, allowing the use of stack RAM. RIOT and system RAM tests are conducted with both the stack and zero page available, allowing for more exhaustive memory testing.

The exhaustive memory test is based heavily on the routines from the OSI MEMORY TEST from OS-65D 2.0, published in OSI Small Systems Journal, Volume 1, Number 3, September 1977.

This listing is for one EPROM preloaded with the current version of our test program. Be sure to select the correct ROM type for your AIM-65! Early AIM-65s use the 2532 type EPROM, while revision 4 or 5 AIM-65s use the more common 2732 type. All EPROMs are programmed with a Data I/O 29B system with UniPak 2B programming pak, ensuring proper programming and long-term data retention. ROMs supplied are either NOS (New Old Stock) or socket pulls that have been cleaned, erased, and tested. ROMs are protected with a Tyco metallized polyester UV-resistant EPROM label.
