The DS Input Interface works as an input display for the DS, can play Tool Assisted Speedruns on DS hardware, and externally controls the DS.

Features:

Functions as an input display
Able to console-verify Tool Assisted Speedruns (TASes) or playback sets of inputs with frame-perfect accuracy
Able to manipulate RNG (Random Numbers) during TAS playback, as the DS will automatically turn on when battery is inserted and automatically restart
Compatible with DSM files for TAS playback
Compatible with NintendoSpy/RetroSpy SNES skins
Able to control the DS using the original buttons, keyboard, mouse, or an external controller
Can be used for Twitch Plays DS (code included) or other crowd control of the DS
Compatible with the Loopy DS capture card
Doesn't affect the feel of the DS buttons, and sticks out less than 3 mm on the back of the DS

There is almost no lag when using the input display, as the programs are all running hundreds to thousands of times per second.

TAS playback is synced with the DS, so it doesn't desync. You will need to solder two additional wires in order to enable TAS mode. If TAS Mode is enabled, you will need to plug in the Input Interface for the DS to register a power button press. Read the About TAS Mode page for more details. About TAS Mode

DS Bootup and TAS Verification Example

Product comes with:

Custom flexible circuit board
Black 3D printed back cover
Pro Micro board
Optional additional back cover in another color

You will need the following:

Original DS "Phat" console (other models won't work as the motherboard is different)
Soldering Station/Soldering Experience
Tri-wing Y00 screwdriver
Philips head #00 screwdriver
Dremel or hobby knife (to make the slot in the shell)
Hot glue or epoxy (to glue the 3D printed back cover to the shell)
To enable TAS mode, you will need about 1 foot (30 cm) of 28AWG or thinner wire
