Laser Theremin!

This is the DCZia badge from defcon 27. You 'play' it like a theremin, but instead of radio antennas, the badge uses time-of-flight laser ranging sensors to detect your hands. As you move your hands, you adjust pitch and volume, and with the rotary knob you can select the waveform to make some really wacky noises. The hardware and software are open source for you to hack on to your heart's content. Make it into something awesome and share the result with us!

This run of badges will be limited to a very small quantity since we will be hand assembling each board. If they sell out before you get one, be sure to jump on the waitlist to be notified for when we do another batch.

What you get

This badge is sold as a kit and only as a kit. But fear not - we designed it to be easy to assemble. All the surface mount stuff is already done, leaving just the through hole for you to complete. We even have an awesome build guide to help you along your way.
