What is it?

This is a Wifi module for the Lemax Train based on an ESP 8266EX. It connects automatically to your Wifi upon power on. The Wifi connection is seeing through a brighter blue led in the driver compartment. You can control the train through a dedicated webpage.

Why did you make it?

My wife was complaining that the Lemax train was too noisy to let it run all the time. So I built this module to control the speed of the train and its light. At low speed, the train makes very little noise. Since it runs around a tree (in my case), I don't need high speed. For the light, I implemented 2 controls that can be seen in the video: - one for the train headlight (already present) - one for the driver panel led (custom made)

I didn't implement the audio as the embedded speaker can't produce any fair audio.

What makes it special?

it fits perfectly inside the Lemax train. It is a very compact solution
