Features:

All Through Hole parts. (easy to handle and solder)
Runs about 4x faster than the original
Memory registers: 2.5 times more memory than the original.
Continuous memory (Memory is not lost when calculator is turn off).
Auto power off
Runs on a single ATMEGA328 8 bit microcontroller running @ 8MHz (same as Arduino Uno)
Speaker for audible keypress feedback
192x64 lcd display
Display Backlight
Has a real time clock. (Uses a 32.768KHz crystal)
Uses a single CR2032 3V battery.
Power consumption: 1µA off, 350µA idle, 3mA working (this is with speaker and backlight off)
Microcontroller comes preprogramed.
Can run any of the Voyager series and HP41C calculators, downloading the appropriate firmware.

Outstanding in any way!!!

I absolutely love my little calculator (PX-41c) that I assembled out of the kit that Alex designed. It is the real deal, in any way imaginable, just a lot better, compared to the legendary HP-41c: much longer battery life, more memory, backlit/better display, easier to configure, in-built clock, running much faster ... and a more compact form factor that allows you to carry it anywhere and not being suspected to carry a gun under your shirt, while otherwise being true to the original key assignments. And once you put everything together, and the magic moment comes you turn it on, seeing it working leaves an incredibly satisfying feeling of accomplishment! You built your own calculator, how cool is that???

Alex has been so very helpful all along, I got responses to any of my questions back from him mostly within minutes. His caring and dedication for his customers and quick turnaround is second to none. And he put even bonus add-ons in the package, thank you Alex!

A DIY kit for an old friend the HP voyager series

Great Kit and Finished Product- love it

I'm of a certain age having graduated with an EE degree in 1982- my graduation gift was a then brand new and expensive HP-41CV from my dad. I banged on that machine for a decade or more and I still have it and it works fine. This little HP-41 simulator project is really well done, I thought it would be a nostalgic trip but the finished product is very useable. The display, keyboard and overall function is great and very useable. It will be a main stay on my desk.

The pc board is perfect, the silkscreen keyboard legends are completely legible and useable, the aluminum covers are just that much better. I had no problems at all putting it together and it worked perfectly instantly. It has kind of renewed my interest in these classic old calculators and programming them. The language of these old calcs was like a floating point assembly language with a good math library. The looping and control structure are somewhat like assembly but you have all these rich precise mathematics that makes a great combination.

Its a very faithful simulation of the real thing and I am really impressed. Thanks very much for your hard work. If you even know what an HP-41 is, you should get one, you won't be dissapointed.

Great kit for fans of the HP-41 series

Great kit for intermediate or experienced kit builders as you do need attention to detail with the many parts to solder in place that need to be aligned and flush with the board, and the documentation is a little bare for a beginner. I really like that the firmware is available to flash to the -15C or -16C and with the 3D printed case you can just print and attach the new key layout overlay.
