ESP8266-12E module with relay to control home switch over WiFi. The board also has a 100-230VAC to 3.3VDC converter built in, so no external power supply. Header available for program-ability using USB to UART adapter. Also, comes with example code using - WiFiManager/Blynk which alows you to control switch using blynk android/ios application.
I was tired of having to go outside to turn off my exterior Christmas lights. I would also sometimes forget to turn them off at night before bed. Now, I can either control them through my phone, from anywhere or just set it on a timer mode.
