What is it?

The HP 54502A is a 400 MHz, 400 MSa/s sample rate, 2-channel digitizing oscilloscope designed for both repetitive and single-shot signals. In repetitive mode, the HP 54502A has a 400 MHz bandwidth.

It's very clean, but the rear STAND at the lower left corner was CRACKED (does not affect functionality and it's barely noticeable since it's at the back). Please see the listing pictures. The price reflected the cosmetic defect. Hope it will find a good home for hobbyists.

What makes it special?

Replaced NVRAM and passes every self-test and self-calibration. All the buttons and dials are snappy. A pleasure to use.

I've also added a socket for the NVRAM module replaced, so after 10 more years, you can just pull the chip out of the socket and replace it with a new one (otherwise it's a big disassembly, desoldering, and resoldering job).

Note that the NVRAM battery for most 54500 series oscilloscopes are about to die soon, given the age. If you don't want to do the surgery yourself, consider paying a little extra to buy from sellers who replaced the NVRAM and re-did all the self-calibrations (including time null and external trigger null which requires RF matched cable pairs).

Within 1 year, if there's any problem, just bring it back and I'll repair or replace it. I know this model well
