Escape shield (Arduino Mega Version)

Having repaired many escape room props, we decided there was a need for a flexible shield suitable for connecting a variety of sensor to trigger a Maglock. It is particularly suited to use in RFID based games using the popular RC522 reader.

The shield is available as a PCB or kit. It has the following inputs and outputs.

• 4 x RFID / SPI connectors with the same pin output as the popular RC522 readers.
• 4 x Two LED connectors each has a seperate current limiting resistor inline.
• 4 x eX ports each with two Analogue Pins, 0V and 5V

As well as these there are also

• 3 x Pads for UART
• 1 x Pads for I2C
• 1 x Relay with NO and NC broken out to Terminals (a wire link can be installed so to provide 12V from the input).
• 1 x Sounder
• 1 x 12V power input

The board includes buck converters to supply 3.3V 500mA and 5v 500mA to external peripherals.

As well as the PCB the kit also includeds the following components.

• 1 x 2200uf Electrolytic Capacitor
• 1 x 100uf Electrolytic Capacitor
• 2 x 20nf Multilayer Ceramic Capacitor
• 1 x 1n4001 Diode
• 2 x strips of 0.1 pin header

Example Arduino code will be provided with the kit version for use with RFID, Hall effect & Metal detectors.
