The Makelangelo 2.5 sits on the sweet spot between power and price. We've taken the great pen holder and motor mounts of the v3 and married them with the affordable electronics of the v2. The result is a bare-bones kits that will satisfy your artistic heart and your hungry wallet. If the v3 is a Ferrari then this is a smart car - not quite as powerful but still able to do most jobs.

How does it work?

The Java software converts your pictures into lines. The software sends the lines to the robot one at a time with GCODE, the language of 3D printers and CNC machines. The robot uses trigonometry to calculate the length of each belt. To move from point A to point B the robot figures out the change in belt length and then pulls the belts at the right speed to move in straight lines. Repeat 10,000 times and you have a beautiful picture. See assembly and use instructions for more information.

You provide

This kit does not include the following essential items:

A 12v2a power supply because we ship everywhere but don't have the right power adapters.
An arduino UNO because most of our customers surveyed already have one or more.
A USB A to B cable because if you're using an UNO you already have a USB cable.
The board doesn't fit in the mail. Get a piece 36'x48' and at least 1/2" thick (914.4mm1219.2mm12.7mm)
Water bottle counter weights. Please use an old bottle and help the environment!
A sharpie marker.
