Why ?
By default the MD video amplification circuit isn't the best, you have a multiple small issues that may appear depending on your motherboard revision. Including Jailbear issues.
It's can also solve black screen problems with RGB => HDMI converters.
Compability :
It's compatible with all revision of genesis/MD motherboard 1. It's possible to install the board on a MD2 but isn't really easy ( and an new board coming soon for it ;)
