What is it?

An IO board for the raspberry PI, with this you can interface with up to 8 digital outputs from 5-24V, 4 Digital inputs, 4x10V/0-20mA analog inputs 2x0-10V analog outputs and a 3 wire PT100 interface. The board is supplied with an extensive examples library that includes examples of node red integration. The board comes fully assembled so you can focus on application development and integration.

Why did you make it?

I needed an interface board for light industrial use that did away with the micro USB power connector and allowed me to interface to the voltage levels found in that area. I wasn't happy with the products that existed so I designed my own.

What makes it special?

There are lots of things that make this product special:

• On-board power supply for the Pi allowing it to be ran straight from a 24V supply / 12V battery.
• Outputs are all high side and protected from overload / short circuit and support PWM.
• Supplied with a standard mounting kit
• PT100 interface for temperature control
• Integrated carrier with DIN rail clip option
• Extensive open source python support library
• 4x wide ranging digital inputs
• 4x analog inputs configurable as 0-10V or 0-20mA
• Status LEDS, program run, output fault and field supply.

OPTIONS

Mounting options

By default you get the standard mounting kit of 8 hex pillars and 8 screws, you can mount it onto a plateup to 3mm thick with this you can also add:

• Base plate and DIN Clip - select this option for green perspex base plate and DIN Clip with rubber pads enabling desk operation, plate mounting from top and DIN mounting.

PCB Build options

As default there is no on-board DCDC power supply (you must supply Vfield and 5V PSU) via terminals or the micro usb.

• 1A DCDC - Select this option if you'd like a 1A DCDC included in the build
• 2A DCDC - Select this option if you'd like a 2A DCDC included in the build

PiIO GPIO Extender

The PCB is supplied with fixings to allow the board to sit 12mm above the PI. You can add a booster kit to raise it to 20mm above the Pi which can be useful in certain situations.

• GPIO Extender - this model requires a GPIO Extender to work with a camera module or to fit on the raspberry Pi 4 (1-3 do not require it).
