What is it?

It's an MQTT Wifi Wall Mounted Smart Switch that can be linked with any MQTT Compatible Smart House Software, like HomeAssistant, OpenHAB, NodeRed... etc.

IMPORTANT: Requires a Neutral Cable at the installation box

Why did you make it?

Because I tried to buy off the shelf switches and they force you to use their own app, give away your personal information, latency can be noticeable at times (even with ESP Home) and by the time you realize you already have multiple apps to control your house appliances, depending on the terms of service of each cloud provider they could potentially ask for money later on to keep your house running including the risk of someone hacking in due to some security issue.

What makes it special?

At home we use both IOS and Android and it allows me to integrate directly with Apple Products through HomeAssistant + HomeKit and also with HomeAssistant + Google Assistant and keep other products working through only one App!

You can link it with any MQTT compatible software! You can directly send it commands, it has a physical button to press and give physical feedback and blend in as a normal wall switch.

Instructions:

• Wall Installation:

  • Shut down all power from the house (This might require some professional help)

  • There are 4 connections at the back of the Wall Switch (Light 1, Light 2, Neutral, Live)

  • Connect as shown in the diagram and secure to the wall

  • Power on and see if the light comes up and starts blinking

• MQTT Connection:

  • To enter to the configuration mode, you need to press the button for 5 seconds and then the light will start blinking, this will create a Wifi Network you can access through your phone or computer.

  • Search for a wifi network with a name Intelka-XXXX, then login using the user and password.

  • Once connected to the WiFi network, type in your Web Browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) the address 192.168.4.1, you will be granted with a user, password dialog. Use the login credentials provided.

  • The webpage will display the device settings, please enter the information accordingly

  • Click the "Submit" Button to save changes, it will reboot and use the settings you typed to login.

  • Currently it support Home Assistant Auto Discover Feature, so it should appear in your Dashboard automatically, as a discovered device.
