The Irdroino IrDA shield is a shield for Arduino that will allow you to communicate with IrDA compiant equipment such as devices that support IrDA SIR communication up to 115200 bps (Power Meters, PDAs , data acquisition devices and other devices that communicate via IrDA SIR ).

The Irdroino IrDA shield comes pre-configured for 9600 bps serial IrDA communication. The baud rate can be configured by using the on board switch (which switches the IrDA controller in command mode) and sending a hex commands representing the other baud rates for the MCP2120 serial IrDA controller.
