What is it?

The filament Fuser/joiner allows you to fuse filaments together, setting the right temperature and join them to produce one run of coloured filament.

Why did you make it?

In my previous versions, I always saw the need to improve my design and mostly safety features. So I redesigned it from the ground up to include lots of new goodies.

What makes it special?

This version has a setup menu with options such as temperature display mode such as Celsius or Fahrenheit, PID mode is selectable Basic or Auto Aggressive mode, Adjust LCD brightness, Maximum Setpoint Temperature. The controller has a built-in safety timeout and sensor detection, if the sensor is unplugged or goes open circuit the controller shuts down. Other features include hot end shutdown when the knob is at zero.

All values are stored in EEPROM and loaded when controller boots up.

A full user manual is included with the controller explaining how to enter the setup menu and use the controller safely.

Supply Voltage: 12V D.C

Sensor Type: NTC 100k 3950

Menu Keypad: 5 button Keypad Included.

Setpoint: Analog potentiometer 10/100k

Can be connected to any common hotend 12V heater 4 Ohm to 12 Ohm - and aluminium block.

The controller has a 16x2 LCD which displays the setpoint and hot end temperatures.

Temperature is controlled by P.I.D loop Software.

The controller can switch between Basic or Aggressive mode

Features :

Setpoint control pot range from 0 to 300 degrees temperature is controlled via PID. Temperature can be shown as degrees C or degrees F

Safety Features

Setpoint range 0 - 10: Switches Heater off. Setpoint range 11 - 300: Switches Heater on.

Sensor Check when booting and while operating - with no sensor connected the controller shows an error message no Sensor!

Inline - Poly Fuse .75 Amp on electronics Inline - 20mm Fuse 3 Amp for Heater

Startup delay for the sensor to warm up and stabilise reading.
