What is it?

This Kit is a USBasp serial programmer for the Atmel AVR family processors. With it one can read and write the bootloader and code to an AVR chip using the USBasp programer.

Why did you make it?

Today you find many usbasp programmers ready made and off the shelf. I wanted a kit which a beginner could buy and assemble. Having fun building this kit is a nice learning experience.

What makes it special?

• The design uses the standard usbasp hardware with the exception of the buffering on the target port.
• Its design is small in size 35 x 50 mm
• Uses standard parts - No Smd parts to solder !
• Has jumper to select ISP CLOCK
• Target supply can be powered from Usbasp Programmer 0 enabled by a jumper
• ICSP header on board to update firmware
• Uses a USB-B socket ! programmer can be left on bench NO Hanging dongles from the laptop.
