What is it?

Gamebuino is an Arduino based board that is configured to be used as a gaming console and also for the expert user can be used as an universal control board which hosts the AVR atmega328 processor clocked at 16Mhz with Seven buttons, a Nokia 5110 display, sound output, contrast control , SPI interface, double I2C interface port , internal lipo battery charger, serial port, sd-card Interface and side expansion port with the battery and i/o signals.

This board is completely Open Hardware and Open Source and can be loaded with many games available online. Code can be written with Arduino IDE and then loaded just any other Arduino device. One has limitless options to use this board to control other things with the provided expansion ports.

It has an on-board sd-card and games can be stored in the SD-CARD and loaded through it. A special bootloader is preloaded into the chip which has the ability to load the games from the SD-card. Audio is also available through an internal speaker or through the headphone Jack. Also, a battery 3.7v lipo can be connected and through the on-board charging, the board can be recharged easily. Expansion is available through various ports, I2C, SPI, Serial, and Auxiliary port. With these ports, Additional hardware shields can be connected.

As a Universal controller one can only imagine what is possible to do with this board. Shields that can be connected are as follows.

Why did you make it?

I had some parts in stock and wanted to make something which my kids could use and have fun with. so I built this Controller and loaded the SD-card with games. I have a batch of PCB's so it is available for sale ! while stocks last.
