What is it?

The Mains Fail Alarm is a device designed to monitor the electrical A.C Voltage 110 - 240v grid power in your home. It promptly alerts you via an SMS when the grid power is unavailable, ensuring that you are instantly informed of any power outage. This real-time notification helps you take immediate action to address the power failure.

The system is built around an Arduino Nano, interfaced with an SD card module and a SIMCOM module for communication. It includes a mains detection circuit and a LiPo battery charging circuit, integrated on the same board. A dedicated power supply charges the battery during standby mode, maintaining the battery bank in a trickle-charged state. This ensures that the battery is primarily used when a power outage occurs, allowing the system to send an SMS alert when a change in the power state is detected.

Client mobile numbers are stored in a file on the SD card, which can be easily edited to update contact information as needed.
