What is it?

This little board, allows you to program the most popular Atmel and MicroChip AVR processors in the field, without the need to connect a laptop computer to the target device. It can also be used with the Atmel programmer board to program the various DIP-packages.

The board has an onboard TF-card where the compiled hex files are stored. An 84x48 5110 Monochrome graphic display shows all the necessary menu options and Graphic screens. A 4 button keyboard allows you to navigate through the menu to perform the flashing, reading, verifying and EEPROM and fuses settings.

Why did you make it?

I needed to update the firmware in some boards in the field and I did not have access to a laptop. So I had to look around and build this board. I have Improved the design with the following features.

Board Features:

• Protected Input Voltage _ Fuse and Diode Reverse protection
• Inline Regulator 3V. with adequate Smoothing.
• Nokia 5510 Graphic Lcd Display with backlight control
• 4 key Button Keyboard to navigate through the on-screen menu system
• very small board 73 x 35 mm board

Software Features :

• Has super-fast writing and reading speed - write up to 12.5kB/s, read up to 14.5kB/s
• Supports SD/TF cards with FAT16 and FAT32 file systems
• Can read, write, verify flash memory and EEPROM
• Can read, writes, verify fuse bits and lock bits
• Can save and read to BIN, HEX and TXT files
• Can set factory default values ​​of fuse bits, delete memory
• Uses standard Atmel 6-PIN ISP programming connector
• Built-in the auto-update function of your own software
• Uses a very simple 4-button navigation Keyboard
• Has a user settings menu
• Automatic selection of programming speed (up to 4MHz )
• Can work at 3V, programming of systems from 3V to 5V

Power Specifications :

• Input Voltage 5volts or higher Max 24volts
• Current Consumption < 100ma.

ISP Connectors:

• Uses 6 Pin Standard socket. After programming, the SCK, MOSI, MISO and RESET lines become transparent to the target system.
