What is it?

This board features an AVR ATMega328 and Silicon Labs Si5351A-B-GT LVCMOS Clock Generator which supports 3 outputs and has a frequency output between 0.0025 and 220 Mhz. The ports can be individually programmed for frequency (100 kHz to 225 Mhz), sweep width, and output power control - 2ma - 4ma - 8ma.

Why did you make it?

I needed a variable clock source to test some filters and my signal generator was limited to H.F. Frequencies. So I designed this board to handle higher frequencies. I used a RC filter to convert the signal to a sine wave.

What makes it special?

The board features :

- D.C Jack for supply input 9V
- OnBoard 5v Regulator
- 16 X 2 LCD With contrast control preset pot
- Settings - setup - are saved and restored from EEPROM
- Three switches - to select individual port and setup Frequency and Output Power , sweep width.

Don't know what I purchased

In my dismay I didn't write down the exact numbers but I get square waves until I get the frequency high enough then I see a sine wave. Documentation doesn't say much at all.

The si5351 is a programmable oscillator which produces a square wave on all three channels. If a sine wave output is required one can use an L/C/R filter to smooth the output and cut down any harmonic. With a Suitable L/C filter the output is very stable .
