The ADX MI2 was built to accommodate the requirements of the following features.

• USB port has been upgraded to a USB-C Connector - micro USB is also available

• +5v Obtained from USB port.

• Changed the bulky 3v3 regulator with a smaller one as it is only needed for the SI5351

• Added onboard USB bridge which hosts the serial COM adapter, CM108 sound card

• Onboard Serial port - for CAT control

• Future I2C port for Band filter Extension Board

The MI2 was designed to have the USB sound card and serial port on board thus eliminating the audio cables. The USB port has a dual purpose as the inbuilt hub will connect both USB sound card and serial adapter to the USB computer port.

The rest is the same as per ADX -MINI features. The size was kept as the previous version of the adx-mini making it small in size in a pocket format.

ADX-Mi2 is built around an AVR-ATMega328P and follows the design of the ADX - Digital Modes Transceiver Designed by Scott Baker KJ7NLA.

ADX is an abbreviation for Arduino Digital Xceiver.

Board Version is 1.2, with Improved Features. The new TX circuitry mod now can reach 5W - tested on 20M, on other bands may vary.

ADX is a monoband (actually sixteen band) digital modes optimized HF transceiver that can cover the pre-programmed bands one band at a time! It can work on the H.F bands 160m, 80m, 60m, 40m, 30m, 20m, 17m, 15m, 10m, 12m and also covers four of the most popular digital modes, FT8, FT4, JS8, and WSPR.

In the receiver section, An AM/FM chip CD2003GP is used, which has much better sensitivity, due to the inbuilt RF pre-amplifier section and a mixer. Thus, supplying a no I.F baseband to the WSJTX software.

In the Transmit section, the ADX uses 74AC244 PA Buffer and three BS170 configured in parallel class E R.F output stage. together with a low pass filter for each band.

In the VFO section, a SI5351 chip is used to generate the TX and RX frequencies. A Calibration Mode is also available to calibrate the adx.

The Atmega328p controls the VFO, handles the audio coding, displays the status on led's and reads the buttons, listens to CAT instructions.

The ADX has five LEDs for TX-on Air, band and mode indication, and three front panel buttons to navigate through the band, digital modes, and calibration mode.

The ADX is very easy to set up and tune. Just plug in the USB, allow the pc to set up the com port and sound card, and configure the decoding software such as wsjtx audio and radio tab, and off you go!

It can be switched to 10 Bands as per the Below list. (With Proper Band filter Installed)

Supported Bands are: 160m, 80m, 60m, 40m, 30m, 20m, 17m, 15m, 10m, 12m
