What is it?

The module kit listed here is a modification carried out by OM KD8CEC and other Ham operators - All acknowledgement to them for their superb work !

Once installed and the TRX flashed with the new firmware - it enables the UV-K5 TRX to receive the h.f bands by using the popular SI4732 chip. - Firmware is open source and is available in the documentation link.

In order to complete the installation you will need the programming cable and the firmware to be flashed in the radio.

Why did you make it?

I have been using the uv-k5 radio and must say has become a very popular radio and also very economic. Adding the H.F band is a big Plus as a Ham Operator .

The installation is very simple and can be carried out in an hour .

What makes it special?

The module is supplied already assembled and uses a film fpc PCB , care should be taken when soldering the connections.
