I have been notified by shipping agents that they cannot accept batteries in the equipment being sent.

For this reason i have added Option in the Order Menu. I will accept orders where you shall send in your uv-k5 for the installation of the H.F Mod fpc board and firmware update CEC_0.5 H.F and once tested sent back to you.

IMPORTANT : !! DO NOT SEND IT WITH THE BATTERY !! - Just send the radio - NO rubber ducky - NO BATTERY

Then follow the following steps:

1: Choose option and finalize the payment.

2: An email containing postal instructions will be sent to your registered address.

3: Before sending the UV-K5 for the H.F Mod, make sure to back up your channel list and calibration settings.

4: Upon receiving the UV-K5, I will apply the modification and conduct the necessary tests.

5: After completing and confirming all tests, I will pack it securely and send it via registered mail.

6: You will receive a tracking number via email to monitor the delivery of your parcel.

What is it?

This service allows you to reserve a slot for your UV-K5 radio after it has been received in our workshop. We will install an H.F Mod module on the the QUANSHENG UV-K5 Radio, enabling it to receive the H.F Bands with the assistance of the Si4732 chip. Additionally, the radio will be flashed with the CEC 0.5HF firmware to ensure the hardware modification functions properly.

Modifications done to the radio.

Modification of front end Amp (Removal of Inductor/cap and upgrade of cap )

Removal of FM Chip and Installation of the DSP Radio AM/FM CHIP SI4732.

Installation of the Antenna input inductor change.

Upgrading of capacitors around the Audio chip to improve clarity.

If Audio Pre-Amp Option is selected - the audio preamp module is also installed.

Upgrading of Firmware(CEC 0.5HF) to enable new Radio chip operation.

Why did you make it?

I have been receiving requests who wants this radio but are unable to perform such mods. So i am stocking a small stock and modify them myself with all the mods available.

The modification is carried out by a professional engineer and great care is taken not to scratch the radio during the modification upgrade.

What makes it special?

The radio is supplied ready to use with all mods Tried and Tested .
