Read More…The Op-Amp (Power Supply) Helper is a kit for making a small PCB powered by USB power that attaches to a typical prototyping breadboard. From the 5-volt USB power it provides +9V and -9V to the top two power rails o the breadboard and +5V and GND to the bottom two power rails.
This makes working with op-amps and other circuits on a breadboard that have similar, unusual power requirements a breeze.
It should fit on any breadboard that has a pair of power rails along the top and along the bottom. The distance between the top-most power rail and the bottom-most power rail should be roughly 47.5 mm (about 1.87 inches). (I use Ben Eater's favorite BB830 breadboard.)
The kit is very easy for beginners (I have already soldered on the somewhat tricky USB connector) and can be soldered together in five minutes.
