This is a newly manufactured battery for all PowerBook 1XX models (except PowerBook 100 and 190), replacing original M5417/M5653/M5654 batteries.

Inside is a new 6V 4500mAh Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery pack professionally manufactured in the US and contains a 70-degree thermostat to protect from over-charging and a 4.2A PolySwitch to protect from over-discharging and short-circuiting.

The battery comes ready to use inside a blue-gray 3D-printed enclosure with contacts added. It also includes a black 3D-printed case to store the battery.

It has been calibrated with one full charge/discharge/recharge cycle but may require additional cycles in your PowerBook to fully calibrate. I recommend BatteryAmnesia for System 6+ for automating discharge cycles and monitoring battery life.

I no longer have any stock of refurbished Apple battery doors (part 815-1240) so you will need to remove one from your original battery by lifting the door away from the battery slightly and sliding it down in the direction of the arrow, then slide it onto the new battery until it clicks and moves smoothly. Ensure the positive (+) terminal is on top when inserting the battery.

Caution: I recommend against using 3rd party "fast chargers" or "battery conditioners" to charge or discharge these batteries. These devices can generate too much heat which can warp the printed case of the battery. Using an original Apple M3050 battery charger works fine.

Unfortunately due to problems experienced trying to ship batteries (even these non-Lithium Ion), I am not currently able to ship these out of the United States.
