Swiss design - small is beautifull

Ditell is a nice small display of limited supply. Lower cost Ditell-b is compatible and offers the same great service to developers

Using one pin, 3ms and and a function of 120 bytes, Ditell and its low cost version Ditell-b is great when you need to display a variable or register value. On the field, debugging and parameter adjustments needs simple to implement helps: a logic pen for signals, Ditell for variables. An oscilloscope and a logic analyser are great if you have them, but need set-up and cannot follow your board to its final place. Serial.print is good when you start an application and need to view many parameters. But it is a slow blocking task, takes too much memory and attach you to the terminal.

So, DiTell has to be considered. It requires only one data pin, 3-5V 50mA, and you can use several if you have free pins and more data to view. Oled displays are nice, but check write time and memory requirements. If you develop for a Tiny AVR, you surely will like the DiTell or Ditell-b

Low cost, low impact, and high value

This tiny display provides a fast and easy way to prototype and debug a design with a small impact on the design.
The onboard PIC takes over function that would normally been coded in the user's flash space.

Indispensable for debugging!

This little debug board has been indispensable for debugging some systems for me that only have one pin left available. The code is so small and consumes very very little cpu cycles.

Nice easy debug tool.

I didn't 'get it' at first, what good is showing 4 digits... but actually, you can cram a lot of info if you plan it well, about where you are, variable values, etc. The additional code (byte size wise) is small enough to leave in, which makes 'in the field' debugging a little easier, just attach it and you get your info.
This is my 2nd JDN product; they are great quality, but more important to a hobbyist is that he's there for you after the sale to help you if you have problems/questions.
Super fast delivery (to US, only took, what seems like, less than a week); well packaged. Very responsive to email queries.
If I had a complaint, (which I don't, as I gave 5 starts for documentation) is that the documentation seems to all be in PDF's; so translating from French to English is an additional step - - but he has a wealth of information available in the documents.
If you do bench top work; I think the lower cost (bigger display) is the way to go; but if you do field work, or think you might want to leave it connected for extended periods, I would get the smaller version, less to hang up on wires, fat fingers, etc).

Quality build, Great stuff & well worth the price.
