What is it?

The LED-No-Solder is a multi-purpose LED light kit that requires no soldering for assembly. Can be used for:

• Educational first circuit build
• Keychain light
• Ruler
• Visual Morse Code or other signalling paddle
• Light-up guitar pick

Why did you make it?

I wanted to make a guitar pick with a CR2032 battery enclosed inside of a PCB instead of a traditional solder-on holder. The battery contacts didn't always engage, and I realized that this could itself act as a switch for a simple flashlight.

When I got the PCB back, to my delight it actually works as a vibration sensor as well. It can be used as a pick in addition to a simple light. Weird how this all came full circle.

What makes it special?

It is very simple, but can be used in so many situations. A great implement to have sitting on your keychain, just in case you need to light up the night, or jam out on your baritone uke!

Sold in a 3-pack, whether PCB or kit.

For the PCB-only option, you provide the LEDs, CR2016 or CR2032 batteries, and heat shrink (optional, but recommended). Kit gives you parts needed to get started, including a red LED and a CR2016 battery
