3D printed case

I added some options, that you can get a 3d printed case. The quantity for this is limited. The case is printed in my small 3d printer. The quality of the case is not great but is expected for my 3d printer.

Great little device!

This thing work great! Fun to setup and works fine. Jorge is very responsive to questions. There is only this and the Harmony hub that can do this this sort of thing, and the Harmony is total overkill for most folks who's needs are simple.

Works as we need it to

I purchased this for my parents to complement their Amazon Echo use. My mother is disabled and being able to control the tv power and volume was the missing piece to her viewing independence.

Works as advertised

Sparse documentation but got it working without much effort. Forgot my password and tried to reset it but never got the email so that function of the cloud website may be broken. Thankfully I remembered my password after a little while.

Buy it because it Works !!

A simple but very useful piece of tech. Does just what the description states. I am using ONE Remotsy to control TWO TCL Roku TV’s. The product can be used wirelessly with Roku TV’s so there is no need to use the IR Blaster function. Because it works wirelessly, the Remotsy can be located anywhere in the home. There is no need to locate it near either TV. The integration with Alexa was seamless.

The basic command set worked right out of the box. However I did have a small issue with channels not changing with voice commands. Jorge worked with me via email and fixed the issue immediately.

An outstanding product at a great price with super tech support. Highly recommended. Get one!!

Great little unit!

What can I say? This thing does exactly what it says on the tin. Jorge is amazingly fast at getting back to you with any questions. I'm not an Alexa user, so I've re-flashed the unit with a custom firmware (there are a ton of interesting IR-based projects out there that work on this with a little tweaking.).

Nothing to write home about

Well at first it did work I was very satisfied...little extra time to set it up , it does not happen instantly . And after couple of months it's stopped working as well it would take 2 tries to turn on a TV and then 3 or 4 tries to shut the TV off , then after another month it seems to turn on the TV ok to turn off the TV after several tries I stop sometimes it will shut off the very first try sometimes it won't shut off at all . It needs to go back to the drawing board in a research and development .
I was planning on buying more because I have more TVs in my house and buy a few for office TVs I will not .I will look for a much better one and hope they put more research into it to make sure it works all the time ....not " oh the light went on " it must be fine

Awesome implementation!

This isn't just someone slapping an esp8266 on an infrared blaster, it's so much more. It can orchestrate infrared commands, roku commands and provides Alexa integration. This is a great example of how to implement a well thought out platform. Roku integration is done via discovery. The web interface is intuitive and easy to use. I'm very happy with it.

Create product, needs DIRECTIONS!!!

Jorge will email you back quickly with any question, but this thing reallllllly needs to have some detailed instructions on how to use it, set up routines, what commands available in the Alexa skill, etc.

It works for me!

This will be my second Remotesy I have purchased. Works well with Alexa. I am installing the second one for a friend. Jorge has been helpful and very responsive about answering questions or issues I had. I am satisfied.

Remotsy works but Echo and Alexa causes a problem

The Remotsy hardware and software works exactly as advertised, but for me it was completely useless as a voice controlled TV remote control. The problem is, the Echo needs to be in the room with me and the TV so Alexa can hear my voice, but the sound from the TV set overwhelms the Echo and Alexa can't hear me give the Remotsy commands. I either have to turn the TV volume down to a whisper, or stand near the Echo and shout as loud as I can. Or, I can bend over the Echo until I'm only a few inches away and speak directly into it. I don't normally have a problem with Alexa hearing me, not even when loud talking or music is coming out of the Echo, because the Echo seems to have a local voice-cancelling circuit built into it. Local voice-cancelling has been built into telephones for decades to keep a person from hearing his own voice, and there seems to be something similar to that in the Echo, so it can hear people speak when sound is originating from the Echo. The problem is, the TV sound does not originate from the Echo, so the TV sound is not cancelled in the Echo, and the result is the Echo gets over-loaded by the TV sound and Alexa can't hear me give Remotsy commands unless I shout as loud as I can. Alexa hears me just fine if I turn the TV sound down very low before I speak, but then I have to use the TV remote control to turn down the TV volume before I give Alexa a Remotsy command, which defeats the reason for having voice control. Yes, I can turn the TV sound down so low that Alexa can hear me over the TV sound and then leave it that way. Or, I can mute the TV sound and turn on closed captioning and just read the dialog. I've tried both of those solutions and the Remotsy works when I do that, but I can only stand to do that for a few minutes before I give up and turn the TV volume back up to a normal level. The people who built Remotsy made a product that does what it's supposed to do, but it doesn't work for me, because the Echo is not good at picking up my voice with the TV set playing at a normal volume. This is probably why other voice controlled TV remotes are hand held. I had to stop using my Remotsy and for me it was a waste of money. But, if you happen to be one of those people with extremely good hearing, who likes to keep the TV sound turned down to a whisper when you watch a show, then Remotsy may work for you.

Awesome Product!

Just received mine today and I already have it controlling my tv and cable box basic functions, as well as running routines for advanced voice control and streaming service integration. Everything was easy to setup and configure. I only ran in to one small thing I couldn’t figure out and the developer answered my inquiry in less than 10 minutes. I could not be more pleased with this device.

Works perfectly

I ended up buying two of them and they both work perfectly. I was looking for something to control my TV's and audio without having to spend a lot of money on a hub and this does just that. It is not a plug a play device so you have to do some work but it's nothing too difficult. The only thing that would make this better for me is if I could control my windows computer with it. I cut the cord many years ago and have computers hooked up to the TV's and use an inexpensive Ortek remote to control it. I didn't feel I should take any stars away for this because I didn't expect it to work, but it would of been a nice bonus.

Works Well

Good IR transmitter. Works with Alexa if setup correctly. Setup was frustrating because of lack of instructions but emailing Jorge with questions got me the instructions I needed. So good support but less than adequate instructions to do anything more than basic ON/OFF, VOLUME UP/DOWN and CHANNEL UP/DOWN. Jorge is working on this. My biggest issue was finding a place to mount the IR transmitter so all devices could see it but that has nothing to do with the device. Signal is very strong but my devices are separated by several feet and somewhat hidden. Device is very small and only needs 5 volts DC so it is easy to hide if you have to get creative with placement as I did. I ended up mounting it near the ceiling about 13 feet away.

works great!

The device work great, but one word of caution with the (optional) case: i'm pretty sure it's causing the device to overheat. whenever it's in the case it will work for a while and start failing to connect to the wifi or register with the service. after letting it cool down it start working again

other than that, works perfectly for the past couple of weeks!

Great Product! Great communication from seller!

I just received Remotsy and it literally took me 10mins to set up. That should tell you about the set up process. Only thing i would add to the setup (which isnt even that big) is to add a note maybe that tells you to go to the documentation page and gives you a url for the set up process. Even though there wasnt one it was still easy to figure out where it was. Especially if you ordered the product.

The product itself is a clean professional looking item. Big thanks for that! Plus he threw in a great looking 3d printed case free of charge with your choice of color! I was about to print one out myself but that saves me alot of time.

The communication of the seller is the best part. Hes quick to reply and eager to help. Even before i brought the item from him. You dont get that alot from sellers nowadays.

Brilliantly simple approach to IoT

I have a lot of existing A/V equipment in my home which works great. I don't want to rebuy everything just to make it work with Alexa. Remotsy is a simple, versatile and affordable alternative to automating your A/V setup. You have to program your devices manually but there is a large database of supported devices on their website which makes setup easy. Great product, highly recommended.

Amesome little IC

It took a little while to figure out the GUI and to get the command setup on the web GUI, but the inventor was super responsive and got me headed in the right direction. After that, workslike a champ. Every time I say “Alexa, TV on”, boom. One less remote control!
