What is it?

The CNC EncoderPad is a Video Editing Macropad with a 60mm Encoder Wheel that's designed for use for CNC machines. This encoder is made of metal and feels like it will last forever. The EncoderPad uses 9 mechanical switches (Cherry MX type). It also uses a small Seeed XIAO SAMD21 microcontroller as the brains of the macropad.

Why did you make it?

As I have been editing more videos for the BlueMicro Youtube Channel, I have been looking for a useful macropad that includes a jog wheel that can be re-programmed for various purposes.

How do I program it?

It's programmed in CircuitPython. As such, you don't need any special tooling to edit the keymaps. Connect the controller, it will show-up as a mass storage device. Open up the keymap files, edit and save them. The macropad will automatically reboot with the new keymap! It's that simple!

How different is it from the wireless model?

• Designed to be the least expensive and simplest to assemble as a DIY kit.
• Operates wired only (USB)
• No battery
• No buzzer/speaker
• No LEDs (RGB or otherwise)
• Requires the use of a controller with the Xiao or QT PY footprint.

• This is a solder-in kit and does not support hot-swap sockets for switches.
