What is it?

This is an adapter that allows the vers.by touch probe to be connected to a Pocket NC desktop mill.

Why?

Ever want to register a part on your Pocket NC without manually touching off? There currently aren't any off the shelf probes that work. The most common shaft diameter is 6mm, which will only be usable in Pocket NC machines with the CHK collet. Doubly problematic, there isn't a port to connect a probe on the machine at all!

How?

This adapter mounts to your A axis stepper and presents the vers.by touch probe in parallel with the built in tool-setter probe. That means that G38.X probe commands work out of the box with it. There are open source scripts that allow probing the ID and OD of parts that are near machine center as well.

The necessary ethernet cable and cable tie are included.

There are several options for actual probe hardware:

1/8in: This will be usable on all Pocket NC machines
4mm: This can be used with a 4mm collet on machines that support it
6mm: This can be used on the v2-50 CHK with an appropriate collet (this is identical to the one sold by vers.by)
none: This includes no probe, you are responsible for acquiring one from https://vers.by and making it fit your machine
