What is it?

The Marauder is a portable penetration testing tool created for WiFi and Bluetooth analysis. It comes installed with a suite of offensive and defensive tools all running on an ESP32. For product features, please visit this github page.

Why did you make it?

I was inspired to create this tool by Spacehuhn's deauther project. I wanted to bring similar functionality to the ESP32 and introduce new bluetooth capabilities to the tool.

Usage

Simply press the power button on the left side of the device once and follow the menu prompts.

Powering the device off is done with a double press of the power button.

Charging and programming is accomplished using the micro USB port on the right side of the device.

Battery

If you would like to purchase your own battery to make the Marauder 100% portable and standalone, look for a 3.7v 504050 LiPo battery with a 2mm JST connector. Be sure to check the battery terminal configuration before installing it in your Marauder. Some terminals have their wires flipped and will require switching before connection.

Limited functionality, but it work

Pros:
- documentation on github exists and is comprehensible
- kinda feels cool to own a "hacker's" device
- Gets firmware updates from time to time.
- at least SSID spamming functionality works, other functions need more thorough testing.
Cons:
- Didn't get resolution on discord, just some stray good people sayind "ye, doesn't work for me either"
- SSID spamming wifi channel is not customizable, so you may not get it to work in a wifi-noisy areas.
- I couldn't get deauthentication attack to work, couldn't get assistance with it either. Maybe it's due to router's built-in defence against deauth attacks, maybe just the board itself doesn't do it properly, can't tell.

Kind-of a cool idea of a product and a decently built hardware, and it gets FW updates to be fair, but mine would't manage to do deauth at all and it's a disadvantage for me personally. I suspect it needs more powerfull wifi module or deauth is not feasible anymore due to widespread defence against it on most WiFi hardware, don't know. I'd be pleasantly surprised if there's a FW fix to it in the future, but judging by my experience, I doubt it. I recommend it, if you don't expect fiction movie level of capabilities from it.

Well designed and fabricated

Just received a v4.5 Marauder, and think it is fantastic, and overall really well done, both in documentation and implementation. Couple of things for those who receive same board:

1) v4.5 uses v4(OG) firmware.
2) Main difference between v4 and v4.5 is that 4.5 has an usb-c adapter.
3) Per Koko's notes, beware of polarity of Lipo battery - I ordered one from Amazon, and the wires had to be interchanged.

Am looking forward to using the Marauder to sort out where one of our credit cards is getting skimmed, as it has happened 3 times in past month.

I am full satisfied

Good packaging for a great security test product.
The shell is 3d printed and looks nice, the device itself is userfull to test your devices security.
I got a problem while updating, asked for help, and the dev solved it in no time

Awesome product!

The seller was very helpful with answering question! I have been having fun learning more about WiFi pentesting and this product works as designed. I was able to add my own battery, but be mindful that the connectors may be backwards when installing. I am looking forward to some of the other products for sale on this store, and the Discord channel and Github page are very helpful resources! Thank you so much KoKo!

Great product to add to your pentesting arsenal

The product looks solid and it is very easy and straightforward to use. I will look at adding a battery to be completely autonomous, but using an external USB power pack just works fine. The same for an external antenna. Nice to have but not necessary. Recommended!

Great build quality and a good produkt

I had my maruder for some weeks now, and I love just messing around with it. Troll friends with it. Got shipped fast from USA to Norway, but were kinda slow in norway (kind of expected). Hardware and software is very good, updates and good communication with Koko on discord, and a good community there.

Cool Product, OK execution

After a week of messing around with this product I feel like I can give a general overview thus far, will edit in the future if things change. The ESP32 Marauder is definitely a cool project and useful product.

Upon receiving the product I was dissapointed to find that this was only the v4 variant when there are photos and documentation of a v6 and v7 marauder on the wiki page. At the current price point I feel like it should have been a bit more fully featured.

The print quality of the enclosure was not that great. Lots of stringing, random seams, and extrusion issues. I will be reprinting the housings so its not a deal breaker.

There is also zero documentation as to what functions and features are available, but if you do enough digging on the wiki and follow spacehuhn it should give you a general idea. Perhaps the value is found in the functionality that I just need to mess around with more.

All in all a cool gadget, cool streamer, but could be slightly better executed given the current price point :)

The print quality will surely be addressed. Is there anything specific you believe is missing from the "usage" documentation in the project wiki? I would be more than happy to expand on the functionality writeup.

Amazing Tool

This is an amazing tool for pen testing and red team professionals, the device is extremely well built and the enclosure is very durable. The software is being constantly improved and updates take just a call minutes to install.
