WiFi Dev Board Micro SD Adapter

This adapter PCB attaches directly to the Flipper Zero WiFi Dev Board. The board connected a Micro SD card slot directly to the SPI bus of the Dev Board's ESP32S2-WROVER module. This will allows firmwares like the ESP32 Marauder firmware to use its external storage capability. In additional to offering a new SD card attachment, this board features UART activity LEDs for the purpose of verifying serial communication without the use of an external debugging or display module.

Micro SD Adapter vs SD Breakout

The Micro SD Adapter installation avoids the process of having to cut, strip, solder, and route wires typically seen with the use of Micro SD breakout modules. Since the PCB of the adapter itself is designed to the shape of the WiFi Dev Board, the user won't have to worry about miswiring any of the connections between the Micro SD card and the Dev Board. Compared to other Micro SD breakout boards, this adapter board is minimally intrusive. It is very low-profile and it still fits the 3D printed enclosure with SD cutout shown here.

Installation

Installation is as simple as placing the adapter PCB against the back of the Flipper Zero WiFi Dev Board and soldering each connection. There are no wires needed.

Usage

My main intention when designing this board was to use it in conjunction with the ESP32 Marauder firmware. The Marauder firmware has the ability to capture WiFi data and save it to an external storage device like a Micro SD card. With the adapter board properly installed and the proper Micro SD card chosen and formatted, the Marauder firmware will recognize the storage device and use it to save the captured WiFi data.

First purchase on Tindie - Exceeded expectations

This was my first purchase on Tindie. The seller had great reviews and the product looked well-made and was what I was looking for, so I thought I'd take the risk. I was not disappointed. Both the circuit board and the case were of amazing quality and, frankly, very reasonably priced. I really didn't expect the quality I got. On top of that, was the communication. The order was confirmed immediately, everything shipped super-fast, and tracking numbers were provided in short order. I'll use this seller again for anything offered that I need. There was no documentation but that's not a big deal. Look at the picture on the order page and solder it like you see it...a no brainer. The case...it only fits one way and there are four screws. Point being, don't take my 3-star rating for documentation as a negative, sometimes 'ok' is all you really need. I highly recommend this seller and will be back.

Straght forward to install.

I had zero issues with the whole thing. Ordered and delivered in under a week. You don't need a step-by-step to put this together. It only goes on one way. So the fact it doesn't come with instructions is good. Why waste paper on something no one will read.

The best of the best

This micro se adapter is probably the one of the best and easiest upgrades to make to the O.G wifi dev board. Super fast shipping on top of that makes it so much easier to upgrade your components. I had this thing on my Wi-Fi board ten minutes after I got it. Its straight forward design makes it almost impossible to incorrectly install. Top of the line quality upgrade. And the marauder case just tops it off.
