Read More…USBuddy is an open-hardware tool for developing with USB 2.0. Whether you're sending data or just want to monitor current, USBuddy will help you.
It has all the USB lines broken out to a standard 0.1" pitch pin header. Plus it monitors current at a convenient ratio of 1 mV = 1 mA while dropping only 10 mV at 0.5 A. This is possible thanks to its built-in 50x gain current shunt monitor. The shunt resistor is located on high side so the ground is kept intact.
USBuddy has an unobtrusive green LED to indicate the presence of bus voltage. The current and voltage ranges far exceed USB 2.0 specifications making USBuddy useful for high-power charger development and monitoring. USBuddy accepts currents up to 4 A and voltages up to 24 V.
USBuddy comes fully assembled and ready to use but without cables. You'll need one USB A-B cable to connect from host (computer, charger, …) to USBuddy.
