Short description

A simple interface for thermocouples. Can be connected to any PC with a USB port (Driver provided for windows, Linux driver is built in the Kernel from 2.6). Can be used as a temperature datalogger (The device is not a standalone datalogger, PC is needed), a temperature supervisor (with limits and e-mail notifications). Datalog function can save to a simple semicolon delimited text file. (can be accessed by Excel, OpenOffice, QtiPlot etc...) The communication is done with simple serial ASCII commands (easy to interface). The device reports the temperature of the TC directly (no difficult calculations needed).

The device can handle four type of thermocouples:

• Type J
• Type K
• Type T
• Type E

Interface to PC is a simple USB 1.1 connection with serial emulation (device looks like a simple serial port). Communication is possible with simple ASCII commands. Documented simple communication protocol provided.

• Measurement range of the provided thermocouple: -50 to +400 °C
• Measurement frequency: 1Hz
• The device has no galvanic isolation feature.

The following measurements can be queried from the device directly with serial commands:

• Thermocouple temperature (J,K,T,E types in Celsius, Fahrenheit, or Kelvin)
• Thermocouple voltage
• Reference Junction temperature (in Celsius)

User software included with the following features:

• Simple temperature display (in Celsius, Fahrenheit, or Kelvin)
• Data logging feature into a simple semicolon separated text file
• Test function with High an Low limits
• E-mail send function
• Supports Windows (XP,7,8) and Linux (with Mono)
