Why did you make it?

Our previous card, the OptoSmall, worked great but we thought we'd look into speeding it up. We found an Application Note which described how to speed up an opto-coupler and we built/tested the upgrade.

Does what it's supposed to.

I was looking for an off the shelf solution to safely interface 5v triggered SSRs with the GPIO on a Beaglebone or Raspberry PI, and I found this.
This board has good isolation between the output and input, and excellent documentation in the event that I need to repair it in the future.
