This is Version 3 of this card.

Version 1 of the card is here. It has 16-bits of I/O port expansion.

Version 2 of the card is here. Version 2 has 32-bits of Digital I/O on a DB-37 connector.

What is it?

Adapter card for the Raspberry Pi Pico running MMBASIC with VGA, Sound, PS/2 Keyboard, and SD card.

The "PCB Only" option is not a kit of parts. It is the PCB only.

Why did you make it?

It's really cool with a bit of retro and modern together in one design. And the Raspberry Pi Pico is inexpensive and widely available.

This is the third version of the card and it's specifically designed to fit in a standard extruded Aluminum enclosure.

Version 1 has a 16-bit port expander.

Version 2 has 32-bits of I/O on a DB-37 connector.

What makes it special?

Based on the PicoMiteVGA reference design. Note that the pinout used in the MMBASIC build is different than the reference design from the Pi Foundation.

Mostly Through-Hole parts

The card uses mostly through-hole parts with only 2 Surface Mount parts. The SD connector is easy to solder and the keyboard 5V to 3.3V level shifter is not difficult to solder (it's an SOIC-14). Picture shows 1/8W resistors but 1/4W resistors fit the footprint.

The Pico is not included. It is widely available (Digikey, Adafruit, others).
